Description

NGC 185 is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy that appears in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is a satellite galaxy of M31 and a member of the Local Group. Spanning (at least) 8.0 ' x 7.0 ', NGC 185 shines at an overall magnitude of 9.3. Long exposures clearly show a bumpy texture and a dark dust lane near the nucleus. Stretching an image of this galaxy is fun, as it seemingly has no boundaries and just gets larger as the stretching gets more aggressive!
