And some observations from first light-

Sure, here's some observations.

-(the output image) It's very similar to my old 8300 camera (ATIK 383L + Mono). I will say this camera has (what seems to me) a much smoother cleaner output. I know what the sheets say and they are almost identical (the 16200 and 8300) but after editing some files, I feel as if they 16200 is a cleaner image. It may be the extra resolution but it certainly seemed less noisy.

-The download times are much longer than my 383 taking almost twice the amount of time. It falls in line with the QSI 583 at about 21-25 seconds.

-The resolution is NICE. No other way to put it, the extra pixels count!

-Files did show some vignetting with my WO 132 and Flat IV flattener. I'm using 50mm unmounted filters, but I'm bottlenecked by the existing T-thread hook up on the back of the flattener. I'm guessing this is where my vignetting came from. Will do research and determine.

-Camera operation is steady, but my cooler did struggle to get to -15 ambient cooling. I chalked it up to being 88F outside during first light. Even then, I had barely any noise in my frame. I didn't even use cosmetic correction in Pixinsight.

-The .pdf manual for the QHY is lacking along with the correct screws for your chosen connection thread. Be prepared to go to the Home Improvement store to buy some M3 .50 1/4 inch long screws. They do provide them for use with the OAG, but if you bypass the OAG at short focal length like I did, then you'll need the additional screws.
