Description

Clavius, Rutherfurd, Porter, etc.

After acclimating well my C14 Edge with the new Cool Edge I received from Starizona, I realized that by placing back the secondary again I made a carelessness and lost collimation. Less evil, for it was time I was not careful collimation, thus devoted more than an hour to perform a good test star.

After a good acclimatization and careful collimation I made the photo attached, a night with seeing average to good (3.5 / 5) and immediately decided to put aside the usual description of the formation and in the company of my friend Rafael Compassi do a resolution calculation.

We came to the conclusion that smaller craters clearly visible in this picture is about 800m in diameter which give a resolution of around 0.4". However craters about 500m are still visible as white spots although not look like craters, they can still be identified, this would give us the astonishing resolution 0.3" that would be very close to the maximum theoretical resolution for C14 (0.2" arc) in privileged seeing places which is not my case.

I believe that I can be happy with the photo obtained and conclude that to get better it would have to be that night in which everything conspires in favor to give us an unforgettable seeing.
