I had a brain fart on this one. The RC was mounted so I was going to test the new Riccardi reducer on it first. I bought the M63-M68/M48 adapter to put the reducer in the drawtube. I got everything ready to go and went to install the reducer....and it wouldnt fit in the Moonlite CSL drawtube!!! :((
This was a major bummer, but I've been wanting this reducer for a long time to use with my TS/APM 107mm triplet anyway. So I carried in the RC and got the 107 mounted. I had already carefully measured things and knew which combination of spacers to use with each scope....and I put the wrong spacer on with the 107. :-/
I didnt catch the blunder until looking over my notes again, so here is what came of the first night with the Riccardi in the 107mm. I've now shortened the spacing by 6.4mm and things are looking much better now. I'm very happy with the purchase in spite of it not working with the RC. I still may figure out something on that later, but the images appear to be very sharp with this reducer with the 107mm. If the weather cooperates, I'll have a new image soon with the correct spacing for this reducer. It is now f/5 and 530mm. A poor mans FSQ106. :P
Version B: LDN 1250, 6X900s Lum test....after adjusting the spacing.
Version C: Aberration inspector on the uncropped LDN 1250.
