Description

First light with Atik 460. Image post-processing is so much easier with images aquired with a cooled camera and LRGB filters. Post-processing in PI. No flatner used due to small sensor size. Some stars show green edges after processing...still some things to do :-)

NGC 7741 is a barred spiral of type SBc in Pegasus. Discovered by William Herschel the object is quite small with 4.5' x 2.9', at least for the small LZOS 123 apo. The field is filled with smaller galaxies in the background. Zooming in on the NGC7741 reveals some detail on the spiral: blue and reddish knots showing star forming regions and a darker curved filament, that crosses the central bar.
