Description

This is my very first attempt at a narrow band image. I recently designed and built a DSLR cool box and am getting temperatures of 24c below ambient with it. This has let me do some long exposure low noise images with H-alpha and OIII.

I am a big fan of stars and spikes so have not really tried to keep them small. I think that if I did it again I would go with longer OIII exposures as the H-alpha is slightly dominant. Hope you all like it

16 x 180s CLS Clip filter (RGB), 8 x 1200s H-alpha 7nm Baader 2" filter (Red), 7 x 1200s OIII 8.5nm Baader 2" (Blue). 130PDS, HEQ5 Pro, QHY5L-II and 50mm finder guider, Baader MPCC MKIII Coma corrector, Canon 1000D Cooled to -3c with a custom cool box. Lots of hard work and staying up till 4am but I am really happy with it and think it was worth the effort.
