Description

I purchased an old Orion Star Shoot Deep Space Color Imager (Version 1) as a spare guide camera. When it came in, I had my C-8 setup from the night before doing planetary imaging with a Philips Webcam, so I just stuck it in at prime focus in place of the webcam and barlow to test it. I managed to image the Trapezium region of M42 with it and surprisingly, it works well at F10 in my C-8 using 10 second exposures. I had some guiding issues (I was using a 50mm finder and SSAG) but I was able to fix that to some extent in post-processing.
