Description

LDN 1235 is a molecular cloud in the Cepheus constellation, likely an extended red emission nebula (ERE), that outshines through photoluminescence when dust particles are hit by high-energy UV radiation. Within its border, there are two reflection nebulae, vdB149 e vdB150 (van den Bergh catalog), respectively illuminated by the stars BD+72 1018 and HD 210806, both with a spectral type B8IV, which give the surrounding gas and dust a markedly bluish color. In the field two small galaxies are also visible, PGC67671 and PGC67347, that appear yellowish because their light, crossing the gas and dust along the line of sight, loses part of its spectrum.
