Description

Titanic: the mystery of the Moon 'killer' that caused the disaster.

More than a century has passed, and the sinking of the Titanic still fascinates the world. This time, recent discoveries reveal something that at first glance may seem surreal or mystical, but it is not: it is a genuine scientific research indicating that the moon would have been one of the main causes of the Titanic disaster!

It started with the astronomic and climatic studies by Dr. Donald Olson, the 'Texas State physics faculty'. His research revealed a series of events, which were then studied and even accepted by many other scientists and experts.

The researchers found that the terrible accident of the Titanic (on April 14, 1912), came just three months after a rare astronomical event: The moon reached its highest perigee (closest approach to Earth) in 1400 years on January 12 1912. This record of the Moon proximity strengthened its gravitational pull, causing extremely high tides, which gave off an unusual number of icebergs in Greenland region. After that, the known Atlantic currents only did their job ever, and moved icebergs to the south, just in time to cross the path of the Titanic. That is, at the time of the Titanic disaster, the sea was infested with icebergs unexpected, quite unusual and gigantic!

Of course, ultimately, the iceberg was still the direct blame for the accident of the Titanic, but scientists claim that this new discovery further explains the reason for the great and exceptional amount of ice floes in the ocean in 1912.
