Description

I haven't imaged in awhile on my own equipment; but thought I would try it out on the moon during 092016. I was lucky enough to have captured the landing site of Apollo 11 from a single frame capture with steady seeing. I am using for the first time a new Canon T6 not modified for

astrophotography. The noise levels seem very low at ISO 400 and increase much more at ISO 1600 but may not show as much if images were stacked. Backyard EOS does not support yet the Canon T6, but I hope he will have it available soon.

This was captured at ISO 400 1/160th of a second from a single frame. I did not try nor attempt to image using video mode on the camera; although a new planetary camera would be a nice investment. Normally the seeing here at my location is poor and not good at all to do planetary lucky imaging thus my reluctance to invest in any other camera at the time.

I need to update gear used; This was imaged with my new used Classic C14 OTA.
