Description

This is my first attempt at an L(Ha+R)GB image. I took the raw data over two nights and now I realize why M33 is so deceptivly simple to image. The low surface brightness really means you need a lot of data to make it shine.

Adding the Ha data really is gorgeous for galaxies. Just realizing that we can make the nebulae visible in another galaxy is astonishing, considering how most of our nebula images are taken of something in the milky way.

Also I am astonished at the huge leap from uncooled DSLR to cooled CMOS. It's insane how much of an improvement this is. I took images of M33 with the DSLR with an IDAS-D1 light pollution filter and I barely saw anything at 300s exposures at the same location.

Unfortunately the second night the clouds rolled in during the red frames and I only got some additional L and R data, but it was enough to finish up the image

Shot this at gain 0 again.
