Description

Here we have an image of the bright emission nebula, IC 1805, also know by its popular name - The Heart Nebula due to its resemblance to the classic heart symbol. This nebula shines brightly in red light due to energized hydrogen gas. In the septum between the heart chambers is a young star cluster. Light takes about 6,000 years to reach the Earth from this nebula, which is located in the northern Constellation of Cassiopeia.
