Description

NGC300 is one of the closest galaxies in the Local Group at about 6 million light years. It is in the constellation of Sculptor, where it forms a gravitationally bound pair with NGC55. They are now accepted as being foreground objects, rather than members of the Sculptor group of galaxies.

This is the first light image for my Stellarvue SV115T, QSI683wsg and Starlight Xpress Lodestar X2. Although it was acquired almost 12 months ago, my processing skills have only recently approached the quality of the data.

Halpha data was shot a year later.

North is to the right, East up.
