S 155, also known as the Cave Nebula, Sh2-155 or Caldwell 9, is a dim and very diffuse bright nebula within a larger nebula complex containing emission, reflection, and dark nebulosity. It is located in the constellation Cepheus.

Visually it is a difficult object, but with adequate exposure, makes a striking image. The nebula gets its name Cave Nebula from the dark lane at the eastern side abutting the brightest curve of emission nebulosity which gives the appearance of a deep cave when seen through a telescope visually.

I've been going back on my data since I've learned more in Pixinsight, although this image is just from using PI with only the RGB data used on this particular image. I am having a great deal of difficulty when trying to combine rgb 's final working image to Lumininace master ; the color and combination it not working at all for me. I'll need to see more information on this vital step. Not sure if I still had things in STF or if I accidently stretched data that I was not aware of,but when I combine both together it a real mess. Its all aligned just looks dreadful when I attempt to apply the luminance to the rgb image that I have posted here.

Okay finally was able to work on the L image thanks for help DSW Team and did go to PI Forum as well and did get helpful info their too. This is my first ever successful image using the full LRGB set in Pixinsight and all I can say is WOW.!! I'm a converted PI user forever and will be using this as my only astrophotography program from now on.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.

Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
