Description

The Crab Nebula, also known as M1 , is what is left of a supernova explosion recorded by Chinese astronomers in the year 1054. At the center of the Crab Nebula is the Crab Pulsar, a neutron star with a diameter of about 30km which is generally the strongest persistent source of X-ray and gamma ray radiation in the sky.

The Crab Nebula is about 10 light-years in diameter and 6500 light-years from Earth.
