Description

In mid March I took over 43.000 images of the surface of the Moon and combined them into one extremely high resolution image. So grab something to eat and get ready for your first walk on the moon.

I used the QHY5IIc and a 3x Barlow Lens on my 1000 mm Newtonian to collect more than 50 GB of data in little pieces. I then rendered the best 7% of images into little segments, which where then pieced together into one big mosaic. In the original resolution 1 pixel represents roughly 380 meters on the surface.

So go and make out the landing locations of Apollo 11 and Apollo 17 - the first and the last places where humans walked on the surface of the Moon.

I hope you enjoy.
