Description

NGC157 is a spiral galaxy seen toward the Constellation Cetus at an approximate distance of 76 Million Light-Years. Its spiral arms form an intriguing S shape, and it may have been disturbed by a passing companion in the distant past. It seems to be an active star forming galaxy with lots of blue star areas interspersed with the pink HII areas.
