Description

The Heart Nebula is a great target object as it is full of detail. While the Ha data is fairly bright, the S2 and O3 frames are pretty weak. This Hubble pallet image is composed of 8 subs in each SHO filter - 15 min Ha and 20 min S2 and O3.

Additional subs in January allowed me to improve the processing. I took the approach of doing more processing of the master S2, Ha and O3 subs before combining to make the color image. This helped make the overall color more "realistic" and reduced the noise in the final image.

Originally imaged in November of 2016, I reprocessed the image in Sep 2022 using a lot of new PixInsight processes.  This resulted in a better image with some star reduction to make the nebulosity stand out a little better.

December 23, 2022 -- Applied BlurXTerminator and NoiseXTerminator to the "final" image.  The resulting image's noise was noticeably reduced and the low leverl details improved.

Description: This third round of processing is based on obtaining additional subs. Now a total of 16 per SHO filter. Would like to get to 20 subs in each filter but will have to wait until next year.
