Description

NGC864 is a barred spiral located in the direction of the Constellation Cetus at a distance of around 70 Million Light-Years. The weak bar stirs up the gas and dust in the galaxy causing the ignition of lot of new blue stars, and has dust lanes along the length of the bar. Two major arms are highlighted by the blue star forming areas.
