Description

NGC is a galaxy about 27 million light years away and is very similar in size and form to our own Milky Way galaxy. It is viewed edge-on and the dust lanes are fairly visible. This image has been made with a focal length which is probably a bit small for the object (792 mm), as it's only about 13 arc minutes in length. When I get the chance I'll try it with a larger focal length.
