Description

This is the Pleiades in natural color made with my new astrophoto stretching software. It came out so blue, I researched the photometry of the nebulosity. With a daylight white balance where solar type stars are white the B-V color of the nebulosity is about -1.2, which is very blue. The blue should be similar to our daytime sky when it is very clear (e.g. high elevation mountain scene with no haze). The image was stretch with a one-step command. Post stretch was small subtraction of some residual light pollution and airglow.

The image is 26 minutes with a 300 mm f/2.8 telephoto and stock 7D Mark 2 digital camera. Stretched with rnc-color-stretch. More infor here:
