Description

47 TUC is located in constallation Tucanae, is distant 16.7 thousand light years from Earth and is the second brightest globular cluster in the sky after Omega Centauri.

47 Tuc has 120 light years accross and can be seen on naked eye under a visual magnitude of 4.0..

An interesting fact common to all globular clusters is its efficiency to sort stars by mass, being the most massive located closer to the core. 47 Tuc has more than 21 blue stragglers close to its core.

Also note on the image how the older red less massive stars are closer to the cluster's periphery.
