Description

The Heart and Soul Nebulae (IC1805 and IC1848) lie around 7500 ly distant in the constellation Cassiopeia. These emission nebulae show dark dust lanes within ionized hydrogen gas. In the center of the Heart nebula, the open cluster Melotte 15 contains several bright stars that are up to 50 times more massive than our sun. The intense radiation from these stars drive the output of this emission nebula.

This is a six panel mosaic taken over two nights with 2 hours of Ha per panel.
