Description

It is extremely cold tonight. Due to clouds early on, decided to image the Pleiades with my normal guide camera since it has the right field of view and is already equipped with the proper focal reducer and fringe killer filter. Having some trouble guiding this shot, maybe because it is so cold or because I didn't balance very well (this actually didn’t turn out that bad due to the big difference in imaging scales).

Scope: Orion ST80, 0.5x Antares telereducer

Filter: Baader Fringe Killer

Mount: CG-5 (Synta motors)

Guiding: AT8IN + DSI IIc + PHD 1.14.0

Camera: DSI Ic T = -6 °C)

Acquisition: Nebulosity 3.1.2, no dither

Exposure: 34 x 240 s

Stacking: Neb 3, dark subtract, bias included, normalize first, trans+rot align, 1.5 SD stack

Processing: Neb 3 crop and auto color balance. StarTools 1.3 Wipe:color cast, Develop, Deconvolute, Track, Magic:Shrink, Magic:Shrink Core , Life:Moderate. CS6 Levels.
