Description

Done at DSW... tried at home and a wasted effort... luckily I remembered this shot to complete Sh2 136 for the collection.

From Galaxy Map:

This is a Bok globule, not an HII region. New stars are forming nside the glowing globule, [CB88] 230, within the Lynds dark nebula LDN 1177.

Sh 2-136 may be associated with the dark nebula LDN 1177 and the Bok globule CB 230. [1]

A 2008 paper contains a good overview of star formation inside the Bok globule. [2]
