Description

About 3 degrees SE of Orion’s head (represented by the star, Meissa, itself a member of open cluster Collinder 69) lies the tiny (28”), magnitude 12.8 planetary, NGC 2022.

This picture as part of my ongoing interest in wide-field imaging two or more unrelated objects in the same frame.

Scope: Stellarvue SV70T with 0.8X flattener/ reducer

Camera: ZWO ASI071MC-Cool

Mount: Vixen SXP

Integrated Exposure Time: 9 minutes (3 X 3 minute exposures)

Notes on Final Image: The background was mildly cropped and reduced to 38% of its original size but the breakout of NGC 2022 is at its original size
