Description

As always, an experiment. There's a lot of data behind this image because I wanted to play with PI's HDR Composition. In the end, I don't think that the target had enough range to make the effort really worth while. The bulk of the images were 240s with a fair number of 120s, 60s and 30s frames as well. I also had about five hours of Ha in the mix as well.

For the next revision, I think I'm going to try to work through deconvolution and try to be a little more subtle with the Ha. The red channel already had a fair amount of active regions and after initially adding the Ha, it was just too "fake red" looking. I stripped the Ha down to just "unique" data by subtracting out anything already in Red before folding it into the Red channel but am going to try to play with that some more.

I'd also like to get the galaxy arms to "trail off" a bit more rather than being quite so bright/saturated with a hard stop. Maybe more skillful feathering of masks would let me achieve that.
