Description

The Seagull Nebula is 2.5 degrees from wing to wing located 24 degrees to the southeast of Orion.

This DSO is about 100 light years across . The head of the Seagull is VDB 93, while the bright HII region at the bottom wing is Cedarblad 90.

The final rendition was cloned in Pixinsight and mask was applied to image. The allowance of mask in place gave me options available to apply LHE to image, then curve application and something I have not attempted before was application of color saturation while mask still in place to avoid oversaturation of stars and keep blue halos down as much as possible in this HaLRGB combined image.

I may still need to see if morphological transformation would still get a better handle of the blue halos. I know Neil Carboni tools has an application for its reduction, but it may leave artifacts in overall image thus my reluctance to use that application.
