Description

This was the first clear night in a while. However there was a very bright crescent Moon

almost directly overhead washing out a lot of the sky. I decided to image M81 and M82

because they were located to the Northeast and about as far away from the Moon as I

could get. M81 and M82 are relatively bright also. I've never imaged these objects with

my Orion ED80 refractor and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do that.

The Moon did affect my image and there is a plywood plant that produces light pollution

in the direction I was imaging. I think I reprocessed this image 25 times trying to remove

light gradients and noise but no matter what I did I could not remove it all. So I tried to hit a

happy medium where detail was still visible but with the least amount of light gradients

and noise. My latest attempt at imaging M81 and M82. Enjoy.
