Description

Venus thermal map recorded in infrared IR 950nm

We are able to see details of planet surface under clouds thanks to temperature differences of higher and lower regions of the planet.

Carbon dioxide is translucent for thermal radiation in wavelenght around 1000nm that's why we are able to "see" planet surface thru clouds (of course not directly)
