Description

Cataloged as IC443, the Jellyfish nebula is a supernova remnant in the constellation Gemini. The shape is created by glowing hydrogen gas blown out by the explosion some many thousands of years ago more than 5,000 light years from earth.

10 Minute unguided images, binned 2x2 to make best use of limited time.

This image was taken at the 2017 Winter Star Party and took first place in the Deep Sky astrophotography contest.
