Iconic object in the belt of Orion.

This image was captured under high desert skies near Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA with a telescope of 12" aperture at f/8 and an electrically-cooled CCD camera. 6.5 hours initial exposure. (Ha-Ha-G-B mapped to L-R-G-B). An a additional 1.5 hours of near IR data was blended into the luminance layer to reveal further detail in the bottom half of the image.
