Description

NGC 2112 is an obscure little Open Star Cluster in Orion. It is a challenge to locate with an

80mm aperture scope at least for my old eyes. NGC 2112 was actually not what I was trying to

capture tonight. I was trying to capture red nebulosity from Bernard's Loop that surrounds

NGC 2112. The combination of nebulosity and the open star cluster make a nice image. However

I was not successful in capturing any of the nebulosity. It's probably outside the limits of a

3 minute exposure with an unmodified dslr camera and no filter. Light pollution also probably didn't help either. However it is an object that I still plan to pursue. With all of that said I did

get an image of NGC 2112 and it is an object that you don't often see in an image so I decided

to share it . Please enjoy.
