Description

This is the Ghost Nebula, otherwise known as VDB 141 in the constellation of Cepheus. A ghoulish ghost figure seems to be walking away from us with his arms outstretched, with two small goblins playing on his left shoulder. This is an exceedingly dim object...clouds of dark dust giving off no light of their own, but illuminated only by embedded and nearby stars. This is a combination of captures totaling 480 minutes in luminance and 90 minutes each in red, green and blue. Even with over 12 hours of photon capture, this image could use a good bit more exposure.
