Description

This is the "Wizard Nebula", otherwise known as NGC7380, in the constellation of Cepheus. The old wizard can be seen on the left looking towards the right, with his wizard's hat on, and with his hands open wide. Technically, NGC7380 refers to the open cluster of stars embedded within the region of hydrogen nebulosity, known as Sh-142. The size of the nebula is about 75 x 140 light years and it lies at a distance of 10,400 light years from earth.
