Description

Comet C/2011 L4 PanSTARRS. The traditional dust tail pointing away from the sun is the small protrusion to the lower left, while the much larger tail is an "anti-tail", pointing roughly towards the sun which becomes visible when a comet passes through the plane of the solar system leaving a plane of debris which we see edge on.
