Description

It doesn't look like the weather is going to permit any imaging. So I looked back over some

of my old image folders and found an image of M23. I reprocessed it today and decided I would

share it. This object in my opinion would be better imaged with a small aperture Richfield Refractor. But with that said I imaged it with my 8 Inch Newtonian Astrograph. This object

is not as glamorous or photogenic as some of the grand nebulas. However it is one of my

favorite objects to view through an 80mm Richfield Refractor at low power or binoculars. It doesn't

look like most open clusters. Through a low power eyepiece it appears to be a small group of

stars surrounded by an almost square shaped patch of light. Also you don't see it too much in

images. So with all of that said this is an image that I reprocessed today using data I acquired

on 9-2-16. Please enjoy.
