Description

This photo was taken as part of a joint project between Cork Astronomy Club and University College Cork to get the focus and clockwork tracking working on this ancient telescope. See my article at http://www.irishastronomy.org/ and select the GRUBB article on the front page.

Our work on the 8" is mostly finished. We are now working on the 13" mounted in parallel and to expand the work on tracking. We have a clockwork drive working at sidereal speed but hope to have other controls and lunar rates in the course of time.

Clearly there are two images. Each was 1000 frames at bin 4 of which 40% best were processed.
