Description

Farewell Galaxy Season 2017...

My goal for this season was to try to get some IFN out of M81/M82.

At first I went to my clubs observatory which was still fairly buried in light pollution, much better than the backyard though. I had two sessions here but on the third try I went to a darker conservation area east of Toronto. Here there were much better skies, I took the same exposure lengths as to do some comparisons.

I think it is definitely worth the extra drive to darker skies as much as I dread it, I can perhaps say to myself that while I'm driving I am actually gathering data it will just catch up once I get there!

I also took the Light pollution filter off for this to try to get as much IFN as possible.

It was fairly challenging pulling the data out the stretches had to be very small and careful, I did not want to overdo it as well. I am happy that it is visible and that was really my goal.

Thanks for viewing!
