Description

The last image I could took before the new increasing moon. Unfortunately I could only gather around 90 minutes, but I am suprised that I got so much signal. Modifying the DSLR payed out here. There is of course a ton of noise. It is a beautiful target, so I will definitely gather some more photons to get a better SNR.

While my guiding works fine now (RMS around 1" with PHD2), the stars are no needle pins. I compared other images taken with the William Optics GTF81, a lot of them seem to have slightly blown out stars. Is this due to the quality of this "entry level" optical scope? I am just wondering if I could improve the stars or just have to accept that it will not get better with an EXOS-2 and the GTF81.

Best regards from Switzerland,

Jan
