Description

At around Midnight my sky cleared. However it was not dark because of the Moon. It was

not that transparent either because of a dim haziness in different places in the sky. I decided

to try some imaging anyway even if the sky was not perfect. I chose to image M8 and M20

because it has been a while since I imaged these objects and I've never imaged them with my

AT72ED scope. I really wanted set my exposure at 120 seconds or 180 seconds but after

taking 5 or 6 test shots it was obvious that I would have to use 60 seconds and even that was

questionable. There is a prison in the direction I was imaging and the sky is lit up in that

direction almost like day light. The light pollution is horrible and that's an understatement.

I did get an image but I did not capture as much detail as I had hoped for due to the short

exposure. I'll have to try again when Sagittarius moves higher in the sky and more to the

South. It will not be affected as much by the light pollution. I've never imaged M8 and M20

in the same field of view. So with all of that said this is my first image of M8 and M20

in the same field of view. Please enjoy.

Description: I reprocessed my image in an attempt to render more of the dusty nebulosity
and star field that surrounds these objects. Unfortunately these objects are
located in the heaviest light pollution in my sky. It's tough, for me at least to
try and remove heavy light gradients yet still retain this light, dusty
nebulosity and star field. Not a great image but I did succeed in bringing
out more of this dusty nebulosity and star field.

Description: I reprocessed this image again still trying to render the dusty nebulosity and
saturated star field yet remove light gradients. My image never seems to
look on my monitor like it looks on Astrobin. I liked my last image on my
monitor but did not like how it looked on Astrobin. So here's another go at it.
