Getting Ready to Image - My Gear

Description

Nothing more exciting than setting up for imaging from a dark sky!

Taken right after sunset, while I was setting up my gear. This image features my current mount, with (most) of my current gear installed, in May 27th 2017. The 70-200 lens is usually coupled to my T4i, which is not shown, as I used it to take this photo, and not all the cables are installed yet. I took a photo of the complete setup with my phone, but as it was already dark-ish, IQ is really bad (the difference a nice large sensor, stacking and SNR makes, huh!), so I didn't post it.

** Gear list:

Mount: Sky-Watcher HEQ5

Imaging Cameras: Canon T4i and T5

Imaging Lenses (shown): Canon 40mm STM and Tamron 70-200mm

Guiding: 50mm StarGuider + ASI120MM

Acessories: RRS BH-40 Ball Head, Dew Heaters for primary imaging lenses (40mm still not installed); DIY Dew Heater on Guidescope; DIY Motorized Focus for 70-200 (belt still not installed); Various cables and a plethora of other little things

Constructive criticism, comments and suggestions are more than welcome in the comments section. Thank's for taking your time to look at this image.

** "Disclaimer": Unfortunately that promising night was a complete flop. Clouds rolled in pretty quickly, before astronomical sunse!, After all it was only useful to get better at setting up, polar aligning, connecting everything... and setting down. Capturing data... not so much = (.
