Description

My sky did not clear until Midnight and there was an almost Full Moon overhead washing out

most of the sky. I decided to image M57 because it is relatively bright and was not near the Moon.

I decided to use my Orion ED80 Refractor because I've not imaged M57 with this scope. I was

fairly certain that I would not capture a lot of detail because of the modest aperture of the imaging

scope and imperfect sky conditions caused by the Moon and light pollution. However with that

said I did get an image of M57 and it closely resembles what you see through an eyepiece except

for the color. My image is a wide field image and tiny little M57 looks very lost in a sea of stars.

My first image of M57 with my ED80 Refractor. Each season I tend to image certain familiar

objects that I like. M57 the Ring Nebula, M27 the Dumbell Nebula, M42 the Orion Nebula,

M31 the Andromeda Galaxy etc, etc, etc even though I've imaged these objects before. I guess we all do that.
