Description

This is a conjunction of Jupiter passing close by our Moon. I was awaiting this event in early May with ambivalence as Stellarium showed the closest approach to be in the middle of my day, with the Moon not rising until shortly before sunset. Fortunately, my scope had a wide enough view to still catch the pair while they receded from each other.

The Lunar shots were taken at 1/500" which also captured Jupiter effectively well. I also took 1/10" shots centered on Jupiter to better capture its Moons, which were then overlayed onto the 1/500" exposure set. I am also pleased to be able to pull some color out of the Moon for this set
