Description

Six months of experimental work with 3 different coma correctors has now completed with this image of M8 which is being used as a kind of 'standard candle' for judging field flatness...this was taken with a 150mm diameter mirror Newtonian at F4, with a Skywatcher F4 Apanatic CC.
it's not as flat in the corners as I would like, but its the best i can do without messing around more.
Originally tried a Baader Coma Corrector MPCC Mk III, but at F4, the stars would not focus properly, always seemed soft and corners were not corrected to rounds stars..
Second attempt - Baader RCC corrector, but although it was an improvement over the MPCC, it did not correct as well as the Skywatcher F4 Aplanatic CC.
