Second attempt at this target. As with previous images, I shot M57 the first time as I was starting out (didn't use any calibration frames) so the image was not IOTD quality
. I am a little more pleased with this version as the data was cleaner and yes, calibration frames certainly help. I also added Ha and OIII date with the RGB. It was difficult to add the narrowband data as the target was very small. I kept having issues with the Ha data turning everything red and the OIII data turning everything green. Ultimately, I had to reprocess everything numerous times in order to get the color worked out properly. A rookie mistake I made was trying to add the narrowband data to images that were already stretched. I also played around with the NBRGB script in Pixinsight with non-linear data and it didn't go well. The process I followed to get the NB data added was from a website called Chaotic Nebula (
