Description

NGC 925 is a lesser-known galaxy in Triangulum, overshadowed by the much closer and larger M 33.  A slightly asymmetrical, face-on spiral some 30 million light-years distant, it’s a member of the nearby NGC 1023 galaxy group.  I find the narrow dust lane right through the galaxy's center unusual and intriguing.

Half-way to the right of NGC 925 is much more distant, blue, S-shaped galaxy PGC 2029584, at an estimated distance of 206 million light-years.  The photons that made its image here left the galaxy in the time of the late Triassic dinosaurs.
