Description

This object is a galaxy located 115 million light years away in the constellation of Camelopardalis at a declination of +77 degrees. The galaxy spans 3 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 100,000 light years.

The interesting structure looks like it was the result of a merger betwen an elliptical galaxy and a spiral galaxy. A large faint star stream extends downward to the bottom of the image. Several interesting partial dust lanes are apparent in and around the core, along with faint star plumes in all directions. The core is offset from the center.
