Description

Abell 40 (PK359.1+15.1) is an almost never imaged planetary nebula in Ophiuchus. This is the first image on Astrobin. Abell 40 is a very tiny Abell, measuring only 0.5 arc minutes and has a magnitude listed at 17.8. None of it shows on the RGB image. It has a very uniform football shape, with Oiii predominating on the outer ring, and Ha showing in the center.

The progenitor star is visible but very weak.

This is everything I could find on the web about this PN. Very obscure.
