A lesson in unintended consequences.....

My swap around to remove the 2" IDAS filter from in front of the filter wheel worked well for narrow band (stacked filters here not a great idea) but has come back to bite me in LRGB, B in particular. Losing the UV cut from the LPS-P2 dropped the cutoff from ~420nm to ~380nm which has led to some nasty bloat on the brighter blue stars with more UV.
The original needed alot of messing around to fix the blue channel.
The revision has additional replacement blue data with a tighter UV cut for the stars but still including the old starless blue data.

Also twigged that I had the color work space set incorrectly in PaintShopPro so now the PNG files finally look like they did in Pixinsight! Enhances colour detail in the background no end!

Title: reprocessed from scratch in Pixinsight with additional L and Ha data

Description: went back to the beginning with this one. Combined the blue data using selective masking to avoid some of the star blooming. Used NSG to make it easier to get a decent background with all that dust and a x2 drizzle to correct the undersampling - this image resized to something more manageable. Still not happy with the stars but will hopefully get another crack at it with more data....

Title: additional data collected to improve starfield

Description: had a gusty evening that was otherwise clear so collected a whole load of 60s RGB subs to try and get enough to replace the oversaturated stars from the original data. Looks way cleaner to my eye at least.....

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
